Materials for edging.
Can be made with any thread weight.
When made with size 10 cotton thread and a size US 8 steel hook, finished width is about 2 1/2 inches.
Starting Chain: Chain 21.
Row 1: Dc in 4th chain from hook. Dc in next 3 ch, (ch 1, skip next ch, dc in next ch) 3 times, dc in next 9 ch.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in next 3 dc, ch 2, skip next 2 ch, dc in next 4 dc, (ch 1, skip next ch, dc in next dc) 3 times, dc in last 3 dc.
Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in next 3 dc, (ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next dc) 3 times, dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in ch-2 space, dc in next 4 dc.
For desired length: Repeat rows 2 and 3 consecutively until desired length is reached.
Row 4: This row is worked along long edge, working in the ends of the rows. * Chain 4, tr in same stitch, (ch 5, sl st in stitch at base of ch-5) 3 times, skip end of next row, tr in end of next row, ch 4, sl st in same row end at base of tr just made *. Repeat between stars (*) across length of edging.
End off. Weave in ends. If desired, weave satin ribbon of matching width through any or all of the spaces within the edging.

Guest Towel Edging
